In Buryatia they said goodbye to serviceman Bato Basanov, who was the champion of Russia in tank biathlon. However, this title did not help the occupier to survive the attack on Ukraine.
The death of the champion was reported by the Telegram-channel "InformNapalm", and then confirmed by the Russian media.
The Russian press notes that in 2021 Basanov was part of the tank crew, which became the national champion in tank biathlon. According to the English tabloid Daily Mail, Bato was also the world champion in 2021, shooting without a miss at a speed of 80 km / h. But official protocols with his name could not be found.
However, previously acquired skills proved futile in Ukraine. On March 14, 2022, a 25-year-old Buryat burned in his own tank after a "passionate" greeting from the Ukrainian military in the Donetsk region.
In Russia, the death of the "champion" was announced only in early May - almost two months after his last departure. According to some media, Basanov's death has been hidden in Russia for so long that it does not demoralize other tankers.
It should be noted that tank biathlon is a figment of the imagination of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and the world championship is held only at the Alabino test site in the Moscow region as part of the International Army Games.
