The Defense Ministry of Ukraine called on Western countries to continuously supply weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine to counter Russia’s aggression.

The Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said that the Ukrainian defenders are well trained to fight the Russian invaders, but the soldiers do not have enough weapons, writes CNN.

She noted that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Western countries have been helping Ukraine with weapons and military equipment, but this assistance should not be a single-time action.

“Weapons are arriving already, but supply volumes are not sufficient enough to ensure fully successful resistance to the Russian army. The West must understand that this is not a single-time aid. The weapon supply must continue until victory. Our fighters are well trained. But this motivation and training is not enough to defeat Russia without weapons,” said Malyar.

Therefore, the Deputy Minister of Defense called on the Western countries to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine.

In particular, according to her, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lack heavy weapons and air defense systems.

We need help from the Western world, especially weapons. First of all we’re talking about air defense and heavy weapons,” said Malyar.

Previously, the media have become aware that Spain is ready to increase its assistance to Ukraine.

The Spanish publication El Pais, citing sources in the government, noted that Spain is ready to “make a quality leap forward” regarding the military assistance to Ukraine.

Prior to that, the country supplied ammunition, personal protective equipment, and light weapons, and now heavy weapons supply is on the table.

According to the publication, the Spanish Ministry of Defense is already completing the process of supplying Aspide SAMs to Kyiv. Spain is also ready to supply Leopard A4 tanks to Ukraine. The tanks have been stationed at the Zaragoza base reserve for ten years and need some repair and modernization.
