West Virginia National Guard to send armored personnel carriers to Ukraine

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice has announced that the West Virginia National Guard will send armored personnel carriers to Ukraine, golosameriki.com reports.

According to official information, the state of West Virginia will send to Ukraine, at the request of its Department of Defense, M-113 armored personnel carriers in an "undisclosed" number.

These armored vehicles are used to move soldiers while providing protection from small arms fire.

"By joining other states, we hope and pray that this will give the Ukrainian military a significant boost to defend their homeland from aggression," the statement said.

Earlier this year, Jim Justice ordered a halt to imports of liquor made in Russia. The governor also asked the West Virginia Retailers Association to remove existing Russian alcohol from their shelves.
